Certification

CAMBMS certificates recognise practitioners who have completed the Academy's training and met its standards of knowledge, practice and ethics.

How certification works

  1. Training

    The candidate completes a programme delivered by the Academy or by a recognised partner institute.

  2. Assessment

    Knowledge and practical skills are assessed against the standards of the discipline.

  3. Ethics commitment

    The candidate agrees to practise within their competence, respect client welfare and refer on where appropriate.

  4. Certificate issued

    The Academy issues the certificate and records it in the public register, with a unique certificate number.

  5. Membership renewal

    Each certificate shows a membership expiry date. Renewal keeps the holder's record active.

What a certificate means

A CAMBMS certificate confirms that the holder completed the Academy's training and assessment in the named discipline, at the stated date.

It is a professional credential awarded by the Academy. It is not a government licence, a statutory registration or a qualification on a national qualifications framework, and it does not by itself authorise anyone to practise medicine or any regulated health profession.

Holders are responsible for practising within the laws and professional regulations of the country where they work.

Verify a certificate

Clients, employers and partner organisations can confirm a certificate in our register. You will need the certificate number printed on the certificate.

The register shows the holder's English name, certificate number, certificate title, issue date and membership expiry date.
